Performance Evaluation and Statistical Analysis of Solar Energy Modeling: A Review and Case Study

The main target of this research is a quantitative review literature on global solar radiation (GSR) models available for different stations around the world. statistical analysis 400 existing sunshine-based GSR horizontal surface compared using 40-year meteorological data in selected locations Egypt. measured divided into two sets. first sub-data set from 1980 to 2019 was used develop empirical correlation between monthly average daily fraction (H/H0) and desired parameters. second 2015–2019 validate evaluate derived correlations. developed were with each other experimental subset based error indicators such as RMSE, MBE, MABE, MPE, coefficient (R). test correlation, (R), all gives very good results (above 0.92). smallest values t-Test occur (M 272, M 261, 251, 238). accuracy model tested ten indicator tests. Global Performance Indicator (GPI) rank models. According results, Rietveld (Model 272) has shown best capability predict surfaces, followed by Katiyar et al. 251) Aras 261).
